Lena Hoschek at Berlin Fashion Week

Austrian fashion designer Lena Hoschek brought Provence to Berlin with her Spring-Summer Collection 2016 during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, showing off the flair and unmistakable soul of this picturesque region through her many attention-getting designs.

The primary sources of inspiration for the collection were the beautiful landscapes and rich agriculture of this Mediterranean region of southeastern France. Hoschek captured spectacular scenery and rural idyllic originality in her colourful presention of patterns and styles, "Plaisir", "Rendezvous" and "Paradis". She used paisley, flower designs and exclusive Toile de Jouy fabrics, which are characterized by fine, detailed floral and figural elements.

Lena Hoschek’s collection paid tribute to Provencal fabrics from the 1800s. She mixed history with the freshness of Provence into her loose slight A-line dresses with ruffles at the waist and shoulders, airy blouses with eyelet embroideries and gorgeous floor-length robes. Additionally, she presented a wide range of summer wedding dresses.

"The Provence Collection is a wonderful mix of the so typical French nonchalance and the romantic bohemian chic. The designs are therefore less strict and are inspired by women like Romy Schneider or Jane Birkin, who left hassles behind and didn’t hesitate before romance. It is definitely a very relaxed chic. The romance is not kitsch, but rather very natural and cool,“ comments Hoschek.

As usual, Hoschek’s sets worked every detail perfectly with tuned in styling from head to toe and cooperation from other brands and designers whose „cult“ products, help represent the spirit of the brand. Specially made straw hats by Muehlbauer and lush floral headpieces were combined with careful hair styling from L`Oréal Professionnel and hair extensions from Hairdreams. Meticulously coordinated Boho jewelry from New One, matching accessories such as a retro radio suitcase by Roberts Revival Radio worn as a handbag, and Hoschek’s feminine Italian produced slingback pumps and rustic Swedish wooden clogs stole many hearts in the audience.
