Charity Gala Dinner in Cannes - Wheeling Around the World Foundation
Tuesday, May 3, 2016
Founded by Alexandre Bodart Pinto, and officially launched in 2013, the Wheeling Around the World Foundation represents the interests of individuals with reduced mobility in their movements, whether moving around daily, distrance traveling or experiencing a cultural or athletic immersion.
The Charity Gala Dinner will take place on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Majestic Barrière Cannes.
The organisation aims to raise awareness with tourism companies and institutions about the importance of ensuring that public places, transportation and housing are accessible to as many people as possible, expecially those in wheelchairs.

Nowadays, 20% of the population faces disability, forming the largest minority in the world. Today’s world requires moving frequently from one place to another. Unfortunately, the lack of transportation, services, and venues which are accesible to those in wheelchairs makes this a difficult task for many.
Alexandre Bodart Pinto has been paraplegic since the age of 16, following a serious motorcycle accident. After a long re-education, this determined young man from Brussels knew that his condition should not prevent him from living a full life and realizing his dreams.
Pinto, returns to Cannes this year with Cine-Arts, and is cooperating with Philippe Streiff, former Formula 1™ driver, to organize a charity event for the benefit of WAW Foundation.
Philippe Streiff, Founder of Masters Karting Paris Bercy competition, was also injured after a dramatic accident, but has never stopped following his love and passion for cars and life.
Streiff’s achievements come not only from the motor sport industry, but also from road safety improvements as Technical Adviser to the Inter Ministerial Representative for Road Safety in France. Deeply affected by the disability issue, Philippe Streiff today is also a spokesman for people who face physical problems and uses his experience to help improving their living standards and integration into everyday life.
The elegant event will be held at the beautiful Majestic Barrière hotel on the French Riviera, and includes a welcome cocktail, followed by a 4 course dinner and champagne. Guests will get the chance to discover the talent of renowned artists throughout the evening, who will paint and auction their exquisite works.
